2 weeks ago we gave you the first 5 ways Mums can fit exercise into their normal daily routine, whilst doing the washing and other housework…
We’ve created another 5 easy ways for you Mums!!
Playing with your baby
Why not join your baby or toddler on the floor as they play? Of course, you’ll want to play with them – it’s a great way of helping their development – but you can also fit in a 5-min workout, perfect to help improve your post baby body!
Try our Butt Lifter workout (clue’s in the name, girls!) which is done in a kneeling position. Count out loud as you go, or let our FitMama App do it for you. Either way, we’re prepared to bet that your little one will think watching you is more fun than playing! You stimulate your little one with laughter and in return your own your way to losing unwanted baby weight.
Check the Right and Wrong pages of our FitMama App to maximize the effect.
While your baby is sleeping
We all know that Junior’s nap time is your cue to fit in all the things you can’t do while s/he’s asleep! But before you start rushing around, why not do a 5-min exercise session? Perhaps try some Kegel exercises which are comfortable to do while you’re lying down.
The resulting adrenaline boost will actually make the chores easier, and you’ll feel amazingly virtuous. Every mother needs a few of these in a day to boost mum energy!
Squeezing the pelvics
We’re all told to pay attention to our pelvic floor muscles after giving birth. But how many of us do? Fact is, in later life you’ll be glad you did – so when you’re sitting in a traffic jam or watching telly, squeeze girls, squeeze!
Going for a walk with your baby
At some point in your day you’ll be wheeling your baby around in a buggy or ‘stroller’ as some would say!
So why don’t you step up the pace for a 5-minute power walk? You can, we assure you, do this without a ‘jogging stroller’, and you’ll boost your metabolism as well as turning on those mood-enhancing endorphins all women entering motherhood need to maitain!
Changing your baby
Talking of floor exercises, if you change baby’s clothes or nappies on the floor you could fit in a mini workout straight afterwards. Chat to baby or count out loud as you work out and you’ll boost their early speech and language skills too. You can do any exercise on the floor why not try Waspy Waist or Bust Lifter from the FitMama App? Again all of FitMama exercises are only 5 – 10 minute workouts so perfect if your rushed of your feet!
We love the Rear in Gear exercise below, most effective if done in a superset within the FitMama App…
Hopefully, we’ve shown you AGAIN that it’s not impossible to fit a 5-min exercise BURST into a BUSY MUM ROUTINE!
We know what its like that’s why we made FitMama to help other Mums ease into losing baby weight or just boosting their moral and energy with our short burst of exercise.
